At the age of 33, she has become one of United Kingdom's much loved performers.
The second inductee in the Andrew George Craig Gibson Hall Of Fame is Sheridan Smith.
To the left is an image of Sheridan in Heartbeat episode, A Shot In The Dark, which aired on the ITV Network on Sunday 23 January 2000.
Her episode of Where The Heart Is was entitled Modern Love and it aired on the ITV Network on Sunday 13 August 2000. In this Sheridan played a hitch-hiker called Vicky.
Emma (and amazing dreadlocks) walked into the Royle Living room where Emma announced to the dumbfounded family that she was a vegetarian, and could not have any wafer thin ham much to the dismay of Nana, on the 28 October 1999 in the Antony's Girlfriend episode.
This would not be the last time she would be working with Ralf Little as his on-screen partner.
Holby City then cast Sheridan in a 6 part mini-series where she played Miranda Locke, beginning her appearances in I'm Not In Love and ending on The Road Less Travelled episodes.
Jumping forward further into Sheridan's career, she gained credits in programmes such as; Always and Everyone, Fat Friends, Doctors, Mile High and regular roles in Eyes Down as Sandy Beech and as a sketch artist in The Lenny Henry Show.
Sheridan (with much different hair than in The Royle Family) had the leading role during 73 of the total 80 episodes of Two Pints Of Lager and A Packet Of Crisps.
Portraying the feisty chav Janet Smith (later Janet Keogh when Sheridan & Ralf's characters married), Sheridan got to expose her fantastic singing voice as Two Pints Of Lager and A Packet Of Crisps had a musical special where they parodied popular songs in the music charts around the time of the When Janet Met Jonny episode broadcast.
This lead her to another BBC comedy series, Grownups, where Sheridan's character, Michelle, and Janet from Two Pints Of Lager and A Packet Of Crisps "met" in a crossover episode for BBC Comic Relief special "When Janet Met Michelle".
In 2012, Sheridan was cast to play Charmian Biggs in Mrs. Biggs which was a true life dramatisation of the Great Train Robber, Ronnie Biggs. For this role she received a National Television Award and a BAFTA. This made Sheridan Smith a BAFTA award winning actor which is on the top of all actors "to-do lists" due to the prestige of the gong. On stage in theatre productions were no different as for her roles in Legally Blonde and Flare Path, Sheridan won numerous gongs for her performances in the aforementioned productions including a separate Laurence Olivier Award for each of her appearances.
In this she executed her flawless singing voice (and Liverpudlian accent) as she wowed the viewing public even more by performing original tracks better than Cilla Black ever could.
Right now, Sheridan Smith is doing quite well in the iTunes music charts as a direct result of the Cilla biopic.
At the age of 33, Sheridan Smith's career is still very much beginning and with two TV Movies & a TV Series coming before 2016, there is really no stopping Sheridan as she's very much on a role and the ride of her life.
Piers Morgan called Sheridan Smith a "superstar" and he doesn't give out compliments too often.
Anyone Who Had A Heart is by Sheridan Smith and features Hal David, Burt Bacharach & David Hall.
You're My World is by Sheridan Smith and features Carl Sigman & Umberto Binbi.
You can listen to the Official Charts with Jameela Jamil this Sunday on BBC Radio 1 from 16:00 to hear how Sheridan does in the fight for the top spot.
