Review of Emmerdale (02 Sept 2013 – 06 Sept 2013)

Emmerdale has potential to be brilliant at the moment; however, the programme does have the worst fictional police force in history.
Picture
Take Tom Roberts (left) for example, he plays DC Flanagan, I don’t find him a believable Detective Constable whatsoever, he would be a Detective Conunstable if there was such a rank in the British Police Service.  Before his Emmerdale appearances, he has portrayed a policeman of some fashion in 22 other single episodes of a television programme, so it’s not like he’s not had experience portraying a role of a policeman.

Perhaps Emmerdale could give him a bit more training in that department.

But then again, Emmerdale is known to employ professional actors who cannot act, those of which are on their regular/recurring roles list.

This Police Service has decided that a Detective Sergeant would be a great idea to investigate a murder enquiry.  Emmerdale is on the same network that shown the greatest Police Procedural Television Show in history, The Bill, you would think even 3 years after The Bill has been off the air, that ITV would have learnt how to produce believable police officers & believable storylines involving the police.

It is good that Emmerdale are moving things along with the Alex Moss Murder storyline, however, they have trotted it out more longer than necessary by ‘framing’ Adam Barton (Adam Thomas - left) for the murder, when in fact it was Cameron Murray (Dominic Power).  We, the viewers, have invested so much time into this story and it’s time to call it a day on it.

Zoe Henry (left), who plays Rhona Goskirk, has been fantastic during her drug addiction angle.  Emmerdale slightly rushed it at the start but it’s smoothed out to a gripping storyline and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Rhona next.

Well done to Zoe Henry for the amazing work she’s doing.

Well, that's another week of big drama in the small village over with, we'll have to see on Monday what lies in-store for the residents of Emmerdale Farm.

That's a wrap.
